Director of Pricing
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Summary of the Role
This position will be responsible to lead pricing analytics, strategy development and implementation for current and future product portfolio. Lead initiatives collaborating with business managers and sales teams to optimize price positioning and price gaps/opportunities. Create action oriented analytics to drive strategic decisions and be able to implement across the organization.
Responsibilities
Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures
Performs price analysis to identify opportunities and provide recommendations for improvement.
Creates, implements, and maintains daily, weekly, and monthly margin impact reporting metrics and provide summary of margin sales issues or opportunities.
Reviews existing price agreements and initiate price updates and recommend changes
Understands vendor price changes and apply price adjustments to prevent margin erosion.
Performs price reviews and determine where margins are below objectives.
Resolves service center pricing / margin questions or issues and make corrections within specified levels.
Ensures contract compliance
Manages rebates and pricing changes
Proactive collaboration with Purchasing to define a recommended cost protection method.
Maintains data integrity and consistency.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated experience with pricing models and analysis
Skill in developing, implementing and leading long term pricing strategies
Experience in industrial distribution and technical sales
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with attention to detail.
Superior skill in communicating effectively with all levels of employees both verbally and in writing, including top management, sufficient to provide information, interpret policy and to justify and persuade others.
Skill in writing concise, logical, analytical reports and notes to justify pricing recommendations and decisions.
Ability to develop and implement action plans to address pricing strategy and opportunities
Ability to quickly build networks, credibility and trust.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Qualifications
5 years analytical experience in pricing, purchasing or finance
Data analyst experience in wholesale or retail distribution
Bachelors’ Degree in Business or related required
Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Access
Strong data mining, aggregation and analytical skills
Ability to set priorities and manage a variety of job responsibilities with effective organizational skills
Ability to interact and work with management and within a team environment.
Strong verbal and written (email) communication skills
Detail oriented with strong work ethic
