Pricing Strategist
Location: Union, NJ
The company is looking for a Sr Analyst, Pricing with a strong passion for turning large amounts of data into actionable insights to drive improved business profitability.
In this highly dynamic and fast-paced environment, this individual will be responsible for leading the development of pricing strategies across the various businesses within the company. They will be integral in creating valuable insights into category/product level price elasticity, understanding the impact of competitive price changes, and working closely with the merchant partners to create optimal markdown cadences to maximize profitability. This position will have the opportunity to present findings and share insights with multiple business leaders throughout the organization including merchandising, marketing, supply chain, operations, finance etc.
Responsibilities:
Mine and translate data into meaningful insights and pricing recommendations for the operational and strategic business units
Answer key business profitability questions by using analytical techniques on data
Design, execute, analyze and interpret pricing experiments to understand real time price elasticity
Build metrics, analytics, and insights generators from core reporting and dashboards for socialization of price competitiveness throughout the organization
Support dynamic pricing process to make prices market competitive and improve price perception of the BBB brand in the marketplace
Mentor and coach analysts on the team on pricing analytics and strategy
Partner with merchant and planning teams to create optimal clearance markdown strategies to maximize margin
Analyze, interpret & communicate the results of pricing analysis, pricing experiments and pricing recommendations to the business units
Document key pricing strategies and analyze and track progress on strategic pricing decisions
Develop process improvements, analytical frameworks, share expertise with others, mentor and continually strive to improve overall contributions to the department
Experience/Skills
The ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis to the business in a clear, precise and actionable manner
Strong background in statistical concepts including regression analysis, A/B testing and experiment design
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as demonstrable comfort presenting to management teams
Be detail-oriented and comfortable with a fast-paced, structured, retail environment
A minimum Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or a related field
Expert knowledge of SAS (or R) and SQL
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint
Working knowledge of Microstrategy/Tableau (or other BI Viz tools)
3-6 years professional experience in solving business problems using quantitative methods
