Director of Pricing Strategy in San Jose, CA

Job Description:

We are looking for a Pricing Strategy Director to lead our pricing team. This role is part of the Go-to-Market team responsible for providing thought leadership and recommendations to optimize executive decision making, strategic portfolio alignment, business development, and sales campaigns. You will provide insights and a vision for enabling solutions based on quantitative and qualitative analysis, deep customer insights, market and competitive research and outside-in innovation scouting.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills combined with an ability to learn quickly and understand the business environment. A successful candidate must be a dynamic self-starter, with a unique combination of analytical and strategic skills including financial and business modeling, executive communication skills, creative and innovative mindset and have a passion for technology and the client experience.

This role reports to our Chief Marketing Officer and is based out of our headquarters in San Jose, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the creation of a multi-year pricing roadmap that is aligned with the solution, product, technology and feature roadmaps
  • Partner with the business units and Corp marketing team to develop an approach and methodology for analyzing competitive positioning
  • Review internal and external market data; interpret data, trends and develops cohesive story of positioning in the market
  • Analyze product offerings, making recommendations for sales programs and competitive offerings
  • Identify opportunities to improve market position and enhance cross-sell / upsell rates
  • Develop pricing strategies that focus on the understanding of the competitive threats faced and develops strategies for mitigating those threats
  • Become the subject matter expert to lead strategy projects through providing quantitative and qualitative analysis and recommendations related to solutions portfolio strategy, emerging industry and technology trends, expansion opportunities including potential investments, and business process improvement
  • Closely interact with business leaders and Executive management to communicate analytical results on a regular and ad hoc basis
  • Lead a global team responsible for setting all pricing for the organization including transactional control, negotiation management, segmentation and analytics
  • Direct impact on corporate profitability

Required Experience:

  • BS/BA with a minimum of 8 years professional experience in a pricing strategy leadership role
